I just got my PS2 modified, and they said they put in a Messiah2...but i am not sure. I don't have to swap disc to play, but to boot up a PS1 game I have to hold the reset button down for 5-8 secs and then it will boot, if I don't it will take me to a black screen. Is this a messiah2 chip?...if so how do i disable it so i can play mod protected games?
Could be a Messiah 2 or a Magic 3.1. the easierst way to tell is by opening it up.
does it boot ps2 games from the browser, if it does it's most likley an M2, but some people are shady out there, there are a couple chips that can boot from the browser as well....to shut off the messiah 2 hold reset for 4-6 seconds, but i don't know on your chip if you have to already hold for 5-8 seconds for ps1 mode??
The easiest way to tell is if you have to tap reset to boot games.
If you do, you have a Magic.
If you don't you have a Messiah.
The PS1 mode is the same for both Magic and Messiah, just hold reset button down until the blue eject light turns on.
Well, sometimes I can load PS2 games with out pressing the reset switch...but it loads like maybe 50% of the time. When i press the reset button it loads about 90% of the time. BTW, I have the very first ps2, and it doesn't read alot CDRs and DVD-Rs, so that might be the problem.
Again, Thanks to everyone who answered my question.
well, it's gonna be tough to determine then, do you not know the installers info??, he/she'd probably know:)
