Can someone identify what this chip and for what this chip stick on...

That is an Origa chip stuck on what looks like double-sided tape.

actually i've remove this chip and replace to matrix ... what my probrem right now it cant reading DVD's. CD only can read audio, i put hdloader cd's it cannot read.. i'm worry because remove this chip my ps2 cannot reading properly.. I've 30004 R PAL... Hope u guys help me find out the problem...

yes, thats definitely the origa chip.. or possibly an origa clone.

I desperately wanted that chip for my v3 but when I finally got the money the shop had stopped selling them

yeah i agree with the origa...... you could pair it up with a neo 4 and have a no swap with about a 25% bootrate

Does it read dvd without the chip installed? Test to make sure everything works before installing the chip.
