i have a SCPH-90004 CB 8A.............
it has some kind of a modchip..........
i can play backups games normally not a problem.......
but dual layer games dont work for some reason(eg. gt4:( ).....
and nothing comes up while booting like for matrix infinity and all..........
so i wanted to know which modchip i have.........
and usb advance does not work........ it freezes when i select a game :(
so i'm hoping someone can help me :D

The only sure way to know what mod chip you have in your console is to open it up and look at it with your own eyes.
And 99% of the modchips need the "TOXIC DL-PATCH" before you burn the game on DL-media otherwise it won´t work

I have 70004 slim PS2 ...
I have 3 dual layer games, God of War 1 and 2, and GranTurismo4 .... they work fine ... i had original in my hands, i made .IMG with ImgBURN, and then burn on DVD+DL , and i have no problem .... is this for DVD-DL or what?
I have modchip, i dont know wich, so i sold the originals ....
Maybe its a stupid question, but i wanna learn about PS2 ....
