I need the Utility CD (V1.0 or V1.1)

Basically I got my PS2 from a guy who imported it and then subsequently blew up the PSU, which I later repaired.

The problem is that I don't have the original Memory Card that came with it or the Utility CD, and I really need the drivers.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy or can anyone send it to me............... pleeeeeeeeeasse ???

i have a burned copy which i can send to you, if you want, and this is v1.00, you must find a swap trick in order to get it to work.

Well Ive actually got an Origa mod, so I'm pretty sure it will work ?

How do you want to send it to me ? Do you wanna send me the image online or physically send the CD through the mail. I'll be more than happy to cover any costs or whatever, I just really appreciate you helping me out

Copies of a utility disc are nearly useless ... You can read the manual, you can watch the MPEG2 demo (ocean movie) and can attempt to install the DVD driver. But the disc has code similar to XDVDCDMAN module and will test if it was loaded from a original disc. Maybe it even have a disc specific protection ...
The result is that copies of the utility disc are not capable of creating the driver saves on the memory card.
They boot but can't write a byte on the memory card.
I tried that with both 1.0 and 1.01 discs.

If there really is no way of saving the drivers from a CDR, which I really cant understand, then could they be sent via a sharkport or something ?

I've got reports of sucess with the EMS PS2 memorycard adapter for the PC. It can copy MagicGate encrypted saves, so it can possibly handle software saves too.

Yes. I also use EMS adapter to backup my 1.00 dvd drive to PC.

I'm replying to several posts in one this time.

The utillity disc v1.0(1/2) is used for two reasons.. One for swapping with backuped CDRs.. This however isn't neccesary and can be done with any disc that is reasonable filled up. You however need to patch the iso's though.

Regarding the DVD driver.. It cannot be put on a memory card using the SWAP trick since during writing it to the memory card it does several disk-checks which aren't defeated by a swap-modchip and might not be by chips like the NEO2.. I think though something like the Origa/Messiah and other more advanced modchips will come through the protection.. ALSO.

The v1.00 region free driver can only be installed on the first batch of Japanese memory cards.. If you buy one in the USA or Europe (or even Japan) you can't use it.. In that case you'll need a newer DVD driver which doesn't care on which memory card it needs to be installed.

Regarding using the EMS toy to backup the DVD driver, it doesn't work.. After writing it back to the memory card it simply doesn't boot anymore (if I remember correctly). Even if it boots it'll only boot from that specific memory card.
