I need some serious help- nothin works!!!

i got a magic 3.5 and installed on tues. it Played da exact same as always but wouldn't any game backups.

On closer inspection of my solder work i thought i saw a bad connection to gnd, z and reset so i resoldered them. By any1's standard i made a balls of solderin gnd and left my iron over it too long but as there are no other points near it i said what can possibly go wrong. As well i only got a 12v iron so its not too hot.

i then inspected my bios clip and noticed 3 pins were bent upwards so i straightened em and put everything back together thinkin this time it'll work.
But now on bootup i get nothin- My fan works and the drive opens but there's nothin goin into my tv!!

Is my ps2 burnt out?? Can it be fixed??
I didn't think it was possible to do so by puttin too much solder onto gnd. There are no burn marks on on it.
I've tried bootin it wit no bios clip on and still nothin!!

Plaease help cas my brother is gonna bust me up if i dont fix it

Check carefull the bios chip.
Maybe have a short ( check leg to leg for NO continuity between them )
or have remove a leg of bios.
Check all legs continuity with the points in the back side of mobo ( alt bios points )
Look arund for splashes.

Oh my God- its gettin worse. I took off the extender arm that joins da magic 3.5 to da underside of da board and now when i boot up i cant eject the tray. Still no video or electrons.

I got a v7 (meant to say earlier). Also about 3 weeks ago i put a screw nearly thro' the ribbon cable to reset, it still worked in every function except there were no leds workin on it- i presumed its ok- is it?

Checked every fuse on top side of board and all r ok-does any1 have a diagram for da fuses on underside of a v7?

Checked all bios points for continutiy and theres none between any of da legs so thats ok too.

Do ye think i might get a replacement system if i go back to da shop and play dumb? I read in another thread that a guy sent his bust ps2 to sony and they replaced it 4 free!! Is this true cas my warranty sticker is long gone?

C'mon guys - i already got 2 beatins today and i got a 6foot6inch
20 stone jock for a brother- i can barely type now cas both me arms are dead

Sorry to read your story. The clip is supposed to make things easier. But a bent clip is useless for ever in my opinion.

A screw through the ribbon cable, is, however unforgiveable and your beating was well deserved!!

It needs fixing properly. By a pro.

That's all that can be said other than keep your hands off it!

Tnkx charlie - i kina guessed that i'm outta my league but installers aren't common around ireland. i know of 3 and can't get a reply from any of em.

Ah all is better now- went into shop and played dumb and they gave me a complete new system. God bless the ignorance of young shop attendants

I am very annoyed at the moment because my first try to install the chip went extremely well apart from the damn crooked pins on the idiotic clip. Damn it i will now depart to yonder tavern where i will consume copious amounts of a dark creamy liquid appropriately entitled Guinness which if ingested in sufficiently large quantities will induce a form of trance like mood which causes the ingestor to temporarily loose the ability to speak, hear coherently, walk correctly and in extra-special cases loose consciousness!! Ah yes, now my spirits are lifted infinitely and my heart abounds with the joy of spring
