Hi everyone, i need a pstwo laser friendly chip fast. :D It doesnt have to be fancy like infinity or Dms, all i want is a solid chip that can play my ps2 backups without killing the pstwo. Also it would be great if the price is no more than 50 bucks, and doesnt require additional fixes because I am just too darn lazy :p
Btw, my pstwo is a ntsc SCPH70012 CB with the date code 4D. :)

But anyways, I carry some cheap priced modchips. Ripper IV at $17.00 shipped, Modbo at $25.00 shipped Priority Mail. Haven't had issues with either in V12 systems. I would definitely recommend using summ0ne's fix regardless of what chip you use though.
The Magic 5 KX is a good one.
Magic 5 KX wont kill your laser but you have to solder like 4 more points than many other chips so soldering a resistor in there would be theoretically less work.. to me at least.

Btw, what is the difference between the green 5KX+ and the red 5KX?
