I need help from SHADOWKNIGHT or someone who knows alot about PS2 console chipping.

O.K i live in a PAL region (IRELAND - although i heard that we and a few other countries may be changing to NTSC!!!)
Anyway i may be buying a few NTSC american consoles (PS2)
so i would be grateful if someone could give me the pictures of the NTSC colour fix so i can play PAL games on the NTSC consoles.
I need them for versions- 4,5/6,7/8,9/10.

And what will the governments do? Give for free new NTSC TV set to all the population before changing the standards form PAL to NTSC??

I honestly cant remember were i read that one but it was supposed to happening in quite a few countries.

HIGHLY misinformed.

NTSC is better than PAL. in fact alot of european countries are moving to NTSC as we speak Ireland for one along with most of the western europe area...but it takes awhile for this to happen, eventually though. PAL is older than NTSC.
They are going to keep PAL there too but over alot of years they will start to FAZE it out.

Come on, you really think Japan would be running something inferior in the world of entertainment?

Maybe some hystory of TV standards will clarify the wrong ideas you have.

In 1954 the american National Television System Committee (NTSC) was placed in charge to develop a color television standard for the United States (NTSC standard).

Japan adopted the NTSC system in 1960 due to the close ties between America and Japan after the Second World War.
Japans economy was NON-EXISTING at the end of WWII, and almost all the equipment/financial aid to rebuild Japan was coming from USA, including TV Transmitter and TV receivers.

In Europe, France developed a different color television standard called SECAM in 1961, followed by Germany in 1963 that invented the PAL color standard that immediately become the choice of TV standard for all the European countries, except France that sticked to SECAM (to protect its own TV production industry), and the Eastern Bloc countries who adopted SECAM to try to stop its citizens from watching foreign TV.

Since the fall of communism in the Eastern Bloc most of the former communist countries have been switching to PAL.
And almost all TV sets in France now have dual PAL/SECAM standards.

As for the picture quality, it is highly subjective.
Most people prefer the higher resolution of PAL (625 lines) against the one of NTSC (525 lines).
Other prefer the higher refresh rate of the NTSC agains PAL.
Again, it is highly subjective, and for sure there is no quality reasons for a country to change from PAL to NTSC.

I don't have any idea where you read this funny story, but just becouse someone is writing some bullshit on some newspaper it doesn't mean that it is real...

Wasn't my intention to tell that you came up with that bullshit, but just point out that a lot of bullshit is written on the newspapers

My personal suggestion:
Don't waste money purchasing USA consoles (unless you have already someone willing to buy them).
Invest those money in a couple of girlfriends!!
