I just modded my first PS2! With magic 3.1!

I have to thank ps2newz and everyone here! All the valuable info here helped me to my success!

I had NO previous soldering experiences what so ever! IT took me 14 hours to do it, but I'm glad I did it!

I'll share some of my experiences here for other noobs like me who wants to do it!

you dont really need a 15 watt iron with a super fine tip. I did it with a 25w iron and a 1mm tip!

Electrical tape rules! mask around the point or leg you want to solder, i donno what i'll do without them!

Flux, is a HUGE help too! If you cant find any at your local radio shack, get some solder weld (RS 64029) instead, it contains flux and some solder, just use it as if it's regular flux.

Start with the larger points/legs first, you'll slowly get some experience you need for the smaller points/legs.

scratch all the points you gonna solder to with a razor blade.

Multimeter is a must, make sure you have a resistance less then 1 from the point on the mainboard to the legs of the chip on the modchip. My problem in the end was some wires had a bad connection, they show resistance ranged from 2-14, I resoldered them and all end up less then 1

The Magnified Tweezers from radio shack (64-3939) is great, help me see clearly between the legs of the bios chip.

And read the FAQ guides in ps2newz!!!!!!!
