hi, i have a v7 model. my ps2 works fine, but i have found that something was wrong. when you turn on your ps2 without games, you go to the BROWSER and SYSTEM CONFIGURATION menu. i was in my girlfriend house and i notice a blue circle moving around the screen. but when i got home and turn on my v7 ps2 model and went to the BROWSER and SYSTEM CONFIGURATION menu my blue circle was not moving. it was static. it was like a big dot over the "S" of SYSTEM CONFIGURATION. i hope you know what i'm talking about.

    thank you

This is a problem when you install a chip... Sometimes DVD controller is so sensitive that heating it a little more than it likes, would result in the electrons not whirling...

I've isolated the problem to points 3 & 6 (Apple diagram), but I'm not sure it won't happen to other DVD controller points.

I really I don't know why does it happen, but I know that removing the modchip will NOT restore the electrons' movement

The nice point of view is that this problem doesn't has any other effect on the PS2.

This problem usually happens when you remove a chip and install another one, maybe the DVD controller points are more sensitive afer a previous install.

Can anyone give more info on this behaviour?

    Greets!

Did you even try setting the time&date on the configuration menu yet , the problem might not even be that complex, you know?

If the electrons are not whirling, its most likely that the time and date is not set up.

According to the PS2 manual, it says that it's Time & Date as IAN has stated...
