Oh Oh. v8 is supposed to be B 090 so hopefully existing Messiah 2s will work with the MX fabrication of the BIOS.

Vengeance causes one to act blindly through anger, rather than through reason.

OK this is a US console.

    scph-39001
    serial: au25*****
    date code: 2d
    GH- 022
    bios-070

This is a costumer's PS2 i tried selling him a messiah2 but all he want is a magic 3.1 because he bought it for $ 15 USD.

Everytime i install the magic 3.1 it wount even load the originals games it gives a disk error. everytime i load either backups or orginals.
so i was think i might be a bad install. so took my v7 ps2 that is working with a magic 3.1 (red pcb) and i swap the boards. but its the same thing i still get the disc error.

So i decided to take the chip off the board of my customer" PS2 and tried loading a original game and iT works with no problems.

so i was thinking its probably the laser . are the v8 having the same problem.

the only diffrence between my board and the customers board its
next to GH and the bios chip look diffrend

    my board
    GH-022<-----------[3]

    BIOS 070

    customer's board
    GH-022<-----------[2]

    BIOS 070

    It's just version 7.

I have seen around 5 pcb GH-022 already, is pretty common by now.

I saw a GH-019 with a "MX" bios and Magic3 worked fine on it, so Messiah2 should also work

Just the memory chip near to chipset was reduced. Doing that will cut the costs to manufacture. And the other chipsets are more recent too.

In another GH-022 versions, the BIOS is more recent also, leading to so called v8.
