I just got a fine pin and heated the leg. Then with the pin wedged between pins 17 and 18, pushed the pin upwards. Viola, the pin lifted. Then, I just scraped away at the via to take the 5v from (v9), fluxed and soldered the wire. Then from here, soldered the other end to Pin 17. Pretty easy to do

I just started PS2 and xbox but doing dishnetwork boxes for a long time and have to lift pins on the eprom of every box, I use a dental pick with a fine point soldering iron. A solder station, dental picks, exacto knifes, swingarm lighted magnifier are a must have to do fine electronics. Loy is right broken pins can be fixed I use a exacto knife to scrape away enough to expose the stub of the pin then pre tin the wire before soldering. Hope this helpes some.
