I wanna kill my V9 so I can get a replacement v10. I went to the store I bought it from, & they still got v9s, so no point in giving them a bullshit excuse so they can replace with one from their stock. So I need to kill it & get it sent back to Sony.
Any ideas would be appreciated...bear in mind i don't want to invalidate my warranty.

if its PAL i guess i can see why, but if its NTSC there is no need, this is one of the stupidest threads I've ever seen on this board. I'd expect this kind of thread over at *******.com but not here.

Any physical damage incurred will void your warranty anyways. I suggest the water trick, but you need to be careful you don't have anything else plugged in to the same socket, because if the water causes the short to go back through the outlet, bye bye to anything else on it. Also, you do realize it takes quite a while to get another ps2 back from Sony when you send it in. Not only that, many people never see their ps2 again cuz Sony can reject your request. I suggest just waiting until a store you have stocks it, or take it back as "defective" and get a refund. If they won't give you a refund cuz its opened, just swap for a new one, go to a different store or wait a few days and take the unopened one back and get cash and go someplace that has a v10.Quote:

Besides, what do you want a v10 for? You should only require one if its a PAL PS2. My v9 NTSC works just fine.
Just slap an army men game in the machine, that'll do the job.

OK then, that's understandable :)
Do what I said, take it back and say its defective and ask for a CASH refund. If they won't give it to ya, say its defective and exchange it for a new one. Then either wait a few days or go to a different store and exchange the new UNOPENED one for cash :) . Then go to a different store and get a new one. Its not worth ****ing around with Sony directly to get a new ps2, chances are you won't see a new one from them anyways.
