Wow, too many questions ;)
1) The GH-xx model is written on the PS2 Motherboard.
2) For what I know it identifies the version of the motherboard.
Maybe it has also other meanings that I am not aware of.
3) The first V8 (Jap one) had a protection for the DVD-R issue.
So, if a European V8 will arrive, we should expect the same type
of protection. Hence it should not read DVD-R with existing PAL mods.
4) You cannot choose what PS2 you want to buy :D.
You buy it, and when you open you know what you bought ;)
5) When the REAL V8 will arrive we will know which existing chips
work with it and which do not.
6) Don't really know anything about DMS3. Don't like it at all ....
Bye.
