How does one make a MOD chip choice?
How does one make a MOD chip choice? –
OK so I have v12, didnt realize Magic Swap didnt work on v12. So now I need a chip.... there are so many. How do you choose? I just want to be able to play backups and be region free for DVDs. Thats it, no fancy features required. I was thinking the H20 is the best bet for me but I still am not understaning the laser fix. Perhaps the Muppet Chip would do me just fine? I have read in many different threads "cut track" What does that mean? Any help given to this newb is much appreciated. thanks.

Man 20 people have read this an not one person has advice??? Seems like a cold community here.
matrix infinity,DMS4 lite,Matrix mxl2,Ghost 2 are my suggestions but personally I'd aim for the dms
It also depends if you are on a budget or if you don't mind spending a little extra money for the "premium" chip on the market.
Do i need to buy a premium chip for basic functionality? Things like a flashable bios isnt something I am concerned with.
I would get a matrix mxl2 because it's a good chip without the shazzam
basic chip will do but the premium chip like the Matrix Infinity is only going to cost a little more so i would just get it, the flashable one just in case any problems with newer games or feature it has you might want to use you can get the new firmware for the premium chip unlike the basic chip you can't update. anyhow the decision is all up to you.
Heres how you buy, Think of what you want to do with the ps2.. then pick a chip based off its features.. Dms4 pro is nicer because of toxic OS that has embedded support for hard drives.. The crystal chip is nice as well most of the apps work nice off the memory card.. some prefer this over the pro because of the way the memory is organized and the ease of install. The matrix infinity is a solid chip with all the features needed and its an easy install on a v12/13.. Dont settle for a cheaper chip or clone and expect not to have problems... these include the modbo (1.1, 2.0) the Apple70k etc. Or you can just stick ur hand in the bin and pull one out..
