how does a modchip turn bad?

i've been hearing people getting bad modchips recently. so my question is, how did it get bad? is it because it's a fake/clone or was it manufactured bad? how do you know if it's bad or not? thx a lot.

well a bad modchip is rarely likly to happen. A bad mod means it's was defected off the press. U'll know when it's bad when u install it and it doesn't work. The seller should offer a replacement chip or refund
