I have could upgrade the Modbo V1.1 to Matrix Infinity firmware 1.4b.
However this is not possible with the V1.2 version, because the EPROM is write protected.

Does anyone know, what I have to do to upgrade it to 1.4b ?
Do not tell me to desolder the EPROM.

It's probably on 1.38 or 1.39 anyway, so you don't really need to upgrade to 1.4. Just patch any dual layer images before writing them.
    South Africa. Repairs, chips etc.

I know that, but just want to know how to upgrade it anyway.
The Matrix Team said it was only possible to upgrade to 1.4b, not higher.
With the V1.1 modbo, it was possible.
With the V1.2 modbo, it was not possible, because of write protections.

    How to remove those protections.
    Anyone knows the answer ????????

I'm sick of all these modbo posts. We should close all threads involving modbo. Allowing discussion about them means supporting them.

The blue 1.2 modbo's are write protected. This is a GOOD thing, the 1.39 and 1.40 firmwares offer nothing of interest (the only DL support in 1.4b is for an unpatched copy of GT4, nothing more)
