This is my last resort to fixing my PS2. I replaced the fuse, and still, the eject light flicks and disables. I ordered the BA5815 chip...but how in the world do I take the old one out and put the new one in? Can someone please give me a detailed step by step procedure and possibly some pictures? I would be really greatful. Thank alot in advance.

The most crude method that I have found that is fast and simple is the dremel tool with a cut off disk mounted on it. Cut on the legs NOT the circuit board and the chip will almost fall off the board. Clean the pads with Flux and de-solder wick and you are ready to re-solder the new chip on.

Flux is the best tool along with very thin solder and a fine tip iron. The flux helps prevent bridges and use a ohmeter to check for bridges when done.
