How can I understand what mod chip I have

Is there a exploit soft or anythig that can tell me what kind of mod chip is installed on my 39001 us ps2,or do I have to open the PS2 and search for something unique feature of the chip.Sorry for the dump question Im new to the scene.

What do you do to play PS2 games? PSX games?

Easiest, 100% sure way would be opening it

i'd like to know abt my modchip too...
i dont wanna open my ps2 though
all i can tell u is wen i load a backup i see a small dot on the bottom left corner of the Playstation 2 logo

open it up and look and if you can't identify than take pics and post it here. someone is surely able to identify it for you.

i have seam Q but my PS2 IS PStwo (tha new moduel) & i can bly copy games this is what i know
