Hi, im new of modding ps2

I have a PS2 SCPH-50000MB/NH (JP) version with BBPACK,I just ordered a DMS3 v9 modchip, according the solder points of V9 from DMS site, the P-W points are soldering at vias points but i did search many posts say soldering at controller IC Legs much better and little chance to damage v9 console, is that true?

If you have good solderingskills it´s a better way! but remember all v9 console may still break down suddenly. the problems is because of bad laser tracking coils. if your lasercoil have less than 5 ohms it´s not a good idea to modchip it!

is there anyway modding with v9 ps2 , any points to avoid the dead ps2 syndrome?

try to use good dvd-r to help the LA not to over heat
