Hi. I'm new and I need some help.. –
A few months ago I planned on buying the no-solder + swap magic combo, but I've decided against it after reading many negative stories.
Now I'm thinking about the Messiah 2. I do have one concern though: someone said that Messiah 2 plays rips and rips wear out the laser... is there any validity to this? Also, just for sake of clarity (and because I'm a newbie), can someone tell me the exact description of a rip?
I'm noticing a lot of different chips that I've never heard of on this board.. what's the DMS3? How does it compare to the Messiah 2? Can someone tell me what's best and what the differences are?
Also, I'd like to send my PS2 someplace where I know for a fact a proper job will be done. Only, I'm finding that it is EXTREMELY difficult to find ANY installers, let alone reputable ones. I'd prefer one in the nearby area, but I don't mind shipping my PS2 away so long as I know there will be no troubles. Any help?
I'm pretty desperate for information and clarity. Any help is appreciated. Thanks a lot!
EDIT: Oh, also, how difficult is it to do a self-install? It looks extremely hard so that?s why I?d prefer not to risk it.
I?ve also read about Messiah 2?s switch? where exactly is it? And is it important aside from being able to trick anti-mod software?
First off good decision on the no solder chip.
A rip is a Rip from a DVD based game. Basically it is just some sound files or movies taken out of a game to make it smaller to fit on a CD-R disk.
DMS is supposed to be able to do alot of things that either tha Magic 3 or Messiah 2 is not capable of. But so far it hasn't impressed anyone. The Messiah 2 is still owning.
We got your guy to do the install here. His name is Necrolop, Very talented installer. Pm him if he is too far away. Post in Ps2newz Buy/Sell forum.
