    Hi!I have a V7 pal console with mxl2 inside and suddenly the disc doesn't spin!I can see the lens going up and down but the disc doesn't spin!What's the problem?

    Did you play around with the DVD/CD drive, if not then check the mod installation, wires, soldered points, everything.

    I've ruined a few drives by playing around with it too much.

    i also have a ver7 but a magic2 chip. My drive did the exact same thing and found a loose wire. after i resolder it, it now works. so chekc that.

    The installation was good!I removed the mxl2 and still nothing,the cd/dvd doesn't spin!Which chip is responsible for this?Is the BA chip responsible for spining?

    check the BA6XXXX (but very rare it blows up) or else you messed with the pots

    How do i test the BA chip..i got the same probs ona v10

    From boot regardless of inserted media or DMS3 on/off
    Dms seems ok allows itself to be flashed from memory card

    small skid from lazer head on slide pole..moves bout half an inch
    drive dosent turn at all
    browser appears
    no disk icon in browser just memory card

    I think if the pin number 8 is grounded, it means that the chip is bad. Look around on the forums, it is in here somewhere. Check fuses around the chip, if one of those are dead, it could be the chip, or maybe just the fuse.
