Messing up a via could be a problem though. Vias are meant to make connections between one side of the board to the other. Now that you burn the connection off it's incomplete. I don't know if the v14 will work even if you solder directly to the cd/dvd controller chip. Remove the chip to see if the console even works by itself.
Hope this helps!
I haven't tryed taking the chip off yet, but can you please show me the alternative point which u mentiond was directly to the cd/dvd controller chip, it was the 'I' point i burnt and im installing a ghost 2.Quote:

Thanks.
if you have a multimeter, push one lead down into via hole, check against other points on board to actually make sure it is connected to burnt via by getting some sort of reading, now turn board over and directly underneath burnt via on other side of board will be another via, find the one that has continuity to I via and just connect to that.
cheers
I don't understand what your telling me to do, doesn't it have to be a specific via point, and how can i get contact with multimeter if the via's been burnt off....there will be no conductivity
the via is burnt off the top, if you can sharpen your multimeter point or even use a pin and push it down into the via it will make contact inside the board, now find the via on the other side that has continuity
cheers
oh right i see what you are saying, well theres no point of that because, 1. my v14 board is coated in lacquer so it's harder for me to scrape on top due to cd/dvd chip, 2. i know where the other end of that burnt via is and its under the cd/dvd chip and it is not possible for me to solder there thats why im hoping theres another alternative.
post a pic of the diagram for your board and I will show you an alternative
cheers
Here we go, i really need this.Quote:
