Until today my PS2 (Version 4) Modded with a Magic 3 Modchip has worked for me with both original PS1 and PS2 cd and dvd games along with burned cd and dvd-r games
NOW... whenever I try and load a game it brings me to the browser... identifies there is in fact a ps2 compatible disc inserted into the drive. I proceed to load it and it waits for a second before dumping me back to the red screen which says "Please Insert a Playstation 2 Disc" or whatever it says... Can anyone help me out with my problems?

is this the first time you played that picticular game? and did you clean your laser eye that might work or just get rid of the chip and invest in a better one.

Well actually, I was playing some games earlier on in the day, and then I went out to rent some more.
I rented a few, burned myself a copy of each, and tested them out.
Once I put the first one in, the rest of them didnt work.

    I tried:
Burned CD's, Regular CD games, Burned DVD-R's, Actual PS2 games, Music CD's too.

I used a cd cleaning kit, that wipes off the laser, but even that wouldn't pick up on my system.
I let it spin around in my system a few times, just to give it a little go over.
And for some reason, all the games work now?

Could it only be that my laser had a bit of dust on it? Or is my laser on it's way out?

Quite possible. Dirst, dust, hair... all enemies. So, be happy... you're up and running again.
