i think BLOWN FUSE ON A ba CHIP WOULD GIVE OUT A BLACK SCREEN
oh and sorry for the upper case
the BA chip are for tray use
would have be a blown fuse or a lose wire on the bios somewhere???

Yes, I know that BA chip is for the tray use.
But on the bios there aren't lose wire because i have disinstall the Magic chip.
Now I think it's important to know the value of the capacitator damaged because if a replace the fuse when power on the Console it is interrupted.

Hi
the capacitor measures continuity because the BA chips has been fried. If you thest pin 8 of the BA with ground you will also measure continuity.....ans you shoudn't as pin 8 should be 12v.
To fix the problem you have to replace the 50 fuse and the BA chip. This will make your PS2 work. No need to replace the cap. It is not damaged.
Once replaced the BA also make sure the heat transfer pad is back on.

in this case it does cause the capacitor is showing continuity. One side of the cap is to ground and the other to pin 8 of the BA 12V.
The only reason why you would have continuity on the cap is cause the BA is grounding.
