    Everything was going great, power was the last wire to solder. I soldered it, then it broke loose. When I went to re-solder it on, I noticed that the side of the fuse that I was soldering onto had come off with the wire.

    My main question is this. Is that little via pad next to the fuse the same thing? Can I build a side to the fuse with solder and then use the pad for my power? I dotted the pad yellow and colored the fuse pink and brown in my picture.

    Shouldn't solder all the wires like that then put them on the modchip. It gets confusing sometimes and the chances for mistakes are higher. Should solder one at a time.

    Now about your power question I use a point that's pretty good: http://img81.exs.cx/img81/9481/pm17v...ixinfinity.jpg

    There should be two pads. One for power and one for ground. The image makes it a little hard to see but you should find it easily on your board when you look at it.

    Here's another one just in case you can't seem to make out the other picture: http://img86.exs.cx/img86/8933/pm23v...ixinfinity.jpg

    Try to mimic what I did. Use thin double sided tape to place the modchip on that chip. Don't go and use the double sided foam tape. Make sure you put electric tape on the metal casing or the chip to prevent it from touching the metal casing when you screw everything back together.

    What wire did u use for GND and VCC, it seems like 33 AWG!!
    U don't have black screen using that?

    I'm using 22 AWG for GND, and latley i'm using hight quality very flexable 26 AWG for VCC.

    From my experiance the BEST point to take the 3.3 v for MATRIX series mods is the PS 14 (for v7.v9.v10.)

    I am using double 30 awg kynar for the power and ground, and 30 awg wire for the rest of the connections. Only the powert and ground were supposed to be bigger according to the install instructions on Matrix' website.

    I've used 30AWG without any problems. DMS3 is picky about these wire guages but Matrix Infinity will go with anything.

    Well, here is an email answer right from the Matrix' team Luke:

    c/p:

    >>> Seems that I melted off the side of the fuse on my USA v10 board that
    >>> the
    >>> power wire needs to be soldered to. I see that there is a little via
    >>> pad
    >>> right next to the solder point. Can that be used? Where else can I draw
    >>> power from?
    >>>
    >>> Also, do you think double 30 awg wires from power and also from ground
    >>> will work instead of the 22 awg wires? All I have is 30 awg Kynar wire.
    >>>
    >>> I can email you a picture of it, but I didn't know how you felt about
    >>> email attachments. Let me know if you want to see a picture.
    >>>
    >>> Thanks,
    >>> Nightman
    >>
    >>
    >

    >> Hi Nightman,
    >>
    >> yes also the via is a good solution to take the power from.
    >> Anyhow send me before the picture so I give it a look and maybe i can
    >> suggest you something else.

    Hi Nightman,

    the brown component near the via is a condenser, anyhow you can use the
    via and solder there with double wire like you suggested.

    Try to keep power and GND wires short.
