I have a PS2 V7 SCPH-39001 and im looking for a very good mod chip that won't **** out and plays games i download like i bought the game thats under 25bucks.

Is this the best for what im looking for?

Aaaagh, stay away from the Magic 3 - it's old and doesn't boot certain newer games.
Just get a DUO - they're cheap and work well.

why a damn duo? that's a pain in the ass of cross referancing installation diagrams, to me. I suggest a nice boots-from-browser Magic V, since the redesigned 50k's needed a whole new line of chips, the price of 2nd gen chips for 30k's dropped dramaticly, for around the same price, or a couple of bucks more, well worth the saving of time and eyestrain, the Magic V uses only 2 pionts different that the 3.1, and the same names-of-points on the diagrams (no bs of "W" for m3.1=14 for duo, then that means this wire goes here, crap) so 20 of teh existing wires can stay, and will jibe right up to the letters on the new chip...."kiss"= "keep it simple, stupid", and I've done a few rechips, and trust me, although the points are all more or less the same, when they're lettered for one install, and numbered (or just lettered differently) for the other, the translation is a confusion you just don't need.

P.S., I have an old ver8 SCHP-39001 here, and since I recently tuned up the lazer a little bit better, it's never failed to boot anything, including discs so badly scratched, they would'nt boot on any other of my consoles, or anyone else's, hell, I can boot a BLANK past the spashscreen, before it fails to find system.cnf, and crashes back to the browser, but it TRIES to boot anything. I use that gamepass from bb vid, and I've tried every new release they have, and cannot for the life of me find a game that magic 3.1 won't boot, sometimes it takes a couple of tries, and being shut off in back while running (drains the chips pcb and absolutely resets it, no 30 second wait to change format modes) and restarted, but it ALWAYS boots EVERY game I copy for it. I don't know what "new games" you think it can't boot, why don't you give me one example, I'd like to try it myself.
Plus I can boot up a copy, then turn off my toggle switch, and play that copy online, with dnas impunity, as it is then litterally no longer a modded console, with that chip grounded out, dnas is only a pain in your asses.
Admittedly some games boot, then rsod when you hit start, but that's a version 7+ "software security update", some new games (and multiple elf games) command machines after v 5/6 to rescan the extra sector code now and then, from the software, like when you hit start, but that's no chip will make those new machines play those, since there's no way the chip can know when the game will force rescan, the chip's only signal to do it's thing comes from the reset button, Sony knows that, and makes every resonable effort to keep those chips from working, I have a thing for the old consoles, that lack those nice "updates" to new models.

you know what, I'm away form home indeffinately, and I'm on a borrowed pc, where I have to get to my aol stuff my using IE to go to aol.com, as opposed to running aol, and I dont think my im works, here.

As Roto was saying, the Magic3.1 is crap, but the newer Magic5 is solid.

Nothing wrong with the DUO though... another good chip, so far.

Magic V will certainly boot anything that any apple or duo will, I like those, and it takes just 5 minutes on your board to swap out from a 3.1 20 of 22 are the same, as are all the letters for the points/wires. It's the easiest modchip upgrade there is, Magic 3.1 to Magic 5 blows chunks on translating magic to duo, trust me.
