today my ps2 doesn't read any games,i can heard disc reading sound but nothing happen,always go to ps2 browser screen.last time i replaced ps2 (v7) main board with my friend's ps2(v7) main board that i can read all games(just change mainboard),so i wonder what's wrong with my ps2's mainboard? Does any specialists can tell me what's wrong with ps2's parts on mainboard?thank you very very much

was there ever a modchip inside? did anyone ever touch the cd/dvd pots/adjusters ? You really need to give all specific details on the ps2 if you want poeple to help you, we are nice enough to even ask you the questions.

yes I install a modchip(i think i am a professional solder) before but can't read any disc,so i toke off the modchip,still can't read any disc include original disc,i haven't touch the cd/dvd pots/adjusters.thank for your helping.

So everyone will tell you that the de-install has either left a solder ball somewhere, bridged something, or fried a component.

Check scex point for damaged component or bios chip for solder splashes.

i have checked scex point and bios chip points solding and desolding again also clean the point,but nothing happen still got the same problem,i can heard the dvd-rom swap and check the laser also have the red light,so what's problem please help me again thanks.

Are all the ribbon cables intact, un-damaged and secure?
What about fuses, have you checked them?

He's checked another mobo in his machine & it worked fine, that eliminates any laser/cable issues. The fuses are an easy check to do, but after that, its a magnifying glass me thinx.
