If this needs to be somewhere else or anything, please direct me.. otherwsie:
Okay.. let me try to explain this as much as I can.. I got a PS2 v9 and a Magic V chip from www.modchipstore.com. I had my friend install the chip last week, he was VERY precise with it, and for all we could tell he did a very clean install. (Which now, is probably not the case, hehe).
So.. what happened is that it worked for the most part. For PS2 games I had to reset it sometimes 2-5 times for it to boot, and then the "PlayStation2" logo was all garbled up. But after it DID boot, it would work 100% okay. I have 2 import games and I was playing them all week. For PS1 games, it worked 100% on US/Jap original and copies.. when I played my US PS2 games I just turned the modchip to sleep mode, which let it boot first time, with intact logo.. (no PS2 copies to test).
So I get home today and now it doesn't boot AT ALL. I got power, and when I hit reset the light goes green, I can open the tray, but that's IT. I can't even put the chip into sleep mode.
Any adivce? If anybody knows any paticular points that would cause this we will check it out. Or if you need any other info from me I'd be willing to give it.
If all else fails, should I be able to remove the wiring and chip and just go back to an unmodded PS2?
(Oh, yes.. does anybody have good illustrations to disassemble a v9? Nothing online I could find..)
