Help to Identify modchip...

I recently bought a pre-modded slim pstwo (v12, i guess), and after reading some forums i'm guessing it's a modbo, tho' it reads "Infinity 1.3x" (may be 6,8 or 9, my tv doesn't display it well)under the ps2logo when loading backups... two things happen:
1. I think it has some kind of "hard switch", since it doesn't automatically load the backups; i have to press the power button on a certain way to turn on the chip so it will load copies, and when it's "on" the screen turns black and i have to reset the unit for the game to load....
2. when i load a cd copy of "rumble roses", it displays the MATRIX logo instead of the ps2 logo, but it stills says Infinity 1.3x...

Either way, chip on or off, the unit loads the same when no disc is on it.... should it be showing some logo when the chip is on?

I'm asking this so someone can help me identify my chip without having to open the unit... i don't want to void whatever "warranty" i have (if any).

It should be showing Infinity 1.36 or some other version unless you have the later firmware which added the additional startup logo.

My advice is to return it and get it remodded by a professional who does not use clones. Because your pstwo is unstable from what I'm reading.

definately sounds like a suspect installation. could either be a MI or my guess is a clone. There a tons of clones, all display infinity 1.3x

take it back to the installer and tell him/her to fix the problem.
