Help, I tried recalibrating the Laser, but now my DVDs/CDs won't boot –
Help, I think I adjusted my PS2 lasers too far.
Right now only CD originals work. CD copys and DVDs don't boot. I get Disc Read Errors.
My PS2 is a SCPH-39001 and I've attached an image of my laser unit
Can someone tell me where the original screw positions so I can at least boot my DVD originals?
Are you telling me that you did not measure the resistance prior to adjusting?? bugger... that is not good news...
always measure the resistance prior to adjusting so that you can return to the start point if things go wrong.
If you have a Mulitmeter - set it to ohms and check what you have set it to - then set it back to around 900ohms as a starting point - re-check and then slowly and gently adjust lower to see whether you can improve the laser.

Thanks ShadowKnyght for the help. But it seems that my multimeter is not working correctly or something. It always goes to 0 ohms.
Anyways, I got CD copys to work and my DVD originals only boot if I hold the power button for 4 secs. Does this mean that my modchip is bad? I currently have a Blue Magic 3 from easybuy2000.com
