    i have V0 ScHP-15000 version 0 jap ps2, i am able to do mod on all other version beside this one, i have no problem with soldering on the bios chip, however, this one is giving me headache


    1) the controller chips pins is finner and closer than bios chip and i have big probkem doing it

    2) is there an alternative way to solder those pins?

    3) the refernce i am refering to, is use DMS3, did not mention 2.0 or not, does it matter?

    use dms3 2.0 ... for the controller pins.. strip back 1/4" of exposed wire. Dip in hot solder blob and tin the wire.. then dip in flux paste.. not to much just a nice thin coat.. make sure your iron is somewhat hot.. 800 degrees is good.. place the wire against the pin.. and touch until u see the solder melt.. get a spot light and flash it on the spot your working on.. light helps !.. and if your nervous drink a few beers.. it calms you down.. heh goodluck.

    800C humm i alwasy use 600-500 i thought that is hot enough.. o ok i will try it, and what is the best way to clean up if solder fill up the gap in between the pins? i use the solder wick but seems does not suck it up

    last question, i try to romeo mod but i am unable to desodler the pin? waht temperture i need? 600? or 800? (all my defualt is around 500-600)

    When you use the the solder wick, press it down on the solder with the soldering tool, you gotta let the tool heat the wick so it absorbs the solder

    It's hot enough if the iron is in proper contact with the joint. However if you're going to apply the iron only to the wire and rely on the wire to carry the heat to the joint (I assume this is what N£TM£ÇH means) , then it will lose some heat in the process.

    You can cut the track on the back for the romeo mod. That's my preffered way to do it, rather than lifting the pin.
