need your help on my DUO chip on v4. loads original ps2 games correctly, loads original ps1 games only on ps1 mode, but doesnt load any backups at all! it only loaded a ps2 backup once on the 3rd time i tried and after that it doesnt load any backups. tried Nero on KHypermedia DVD-R as well as DVD Decrypter on Ritek G04.

tried both ps2 modes but it only starts to load, black screen, goes to the Browser menu for a split second then Red screen(insert ps2 disk)

checked and double checked my connections, im sure all are correct.. except a lot of criscrossing of the wires. most are extremely short though.

    any ideas?

would the placement of the wires matter? i just tried to keep them as short as possible even if they were placed in a crisscross manner..

also, could it be the chip? although i dont think its defective since it was able to boot 3 times already(sadly 3 out of 20 tries) its somewhat of a hit-and-miss

iv tested all media, the result:
PS2 DVD-R - erratic, loads half of the time
PS2 CD-R - loads most of the time (sometimes go red screen)
    PS2 original CD/DVD - loads perfectly
    PS1 backup - doesnt load
PS1 original - loads only in PS1 boot mode

checked my connections again and they were all ok.. question, if all wires cross agains each other would it affect the loading performance?

I have had a similar problem. Id say its just the brand of media u are using. I have had good luck with:
    DVD-R PRINCO
    DVD+RW RITEK
    CD-r TDK, MEMOREX
