having trouble booting dvd movies in ps2

hey i have magic 50k chip in my ps2 console, backup and origianl games work fine but im having hella trouble booting dvd backups and originals

iam holding the eject from standby and waiting till ps2 logo comes up than i rls, tray comes out i put disc in tap eject again and it goes to the browser screen saying cant read disc

im trying so many times, am i doing something wrong??

Well on one of the versions of the magic V chip the diagram is wrong. One version is connected to the eject and works like you tried, another version is connected to the reset and you need to hold in the reset button until the blue light comes on. I can't remember which version did what but it really through me for a loop until I figured it out. Personally I like it on the reset line myself.
