Here is my problem and it seems common.

I installed a Magic 7 chip and the chip never worked but when I unplugged the chip the PS2 worked.

I pulled it apart one more time and I tried to power it back on, the red light will turn to green, but there is no blue light, no video or sound, and the tray will not eject. The eject button will change the light from red to green and I've replaced the eject/reset ribbon.

Sad thing is this is a new PS2.

    I hope someone can help.

    Thanks

Where would this most likely be? There must be a certain part of the board that is responsible for the cd power and eject/reset button?

I used a clip on the BIOS, no solder.

You just solved your own problem... It's probably the clip. These are VERY unreliable and I have actually seen them destroy systems. Do yourself a favor and throw it out...

No, didn't you say it worked when the chip was disconnected? If so, just direct solder the points instead of the chip clip and your problem may be solved.

I took the clip off and it still doesn't work. Look all over the board wth a magnifine glass and everything looks fine.

I'm lost at what to do.

Check your PS11 fuse this may have blown if so, it may have also blown your BA5815FM Chip.
