Has Santa has brought me a dodgy laser for xmas? –
A christmas tale.....
I have a v6 PAL with (apparantly) an original Messiah which I had professionally installed. Ever since I got it chipped the laser has been making some crazy acid punk music when it plays copied games. It hasn't really been a problem except for waking up people three streets away but I have just bought a pile of new copied games.
I am having problems with lots of these games. Some work fine but others on the same media (Data Safe Premium Silvers) cause loads of bother. They start to load and it sounds (to a very untrained ear) that it has identified the disk and is about to load. You then get a black screen and after only a few seconds or a full minute it pops up with 'Insert Disk' I have to repeatedly reset to get the games to work which is a nightmare.
You get up pop the game in, happily start it going and then triumphantly sit back down on your sofa. After all its your house and all the people are super impressed by your 'special' PS2. Yup your living the high life. Perhaps about to show a newbie the joys of playing DDRmax with 2 dance mats. BUT the Ps2 has other ideas. It would rather show you up and make you get off your throne to humiliate you. It would rather not play the game for 15 attempts taking all shine off of your 'special' box. Over the new year the dance mats and expected to make a party apperance and I know it is just waiting to get me. Emotional scaring is assured.
I think I need some help. Save me from the indignity. What can I do? Laser adjustment? Different media? If I copy the games to better media from the cheap media will it still help?
