Has anyone tried these new LA6508 chips?(clones)

I have tried 4 of them in 2 differant ps2's and no luck..

I Just would like to know if anyone has got a board working with these.or are they just another waste of time and money?

I've tried one and it worked like a charm. I also had to change the laser though as well (v9).
