Hacked Crystal chip firmware easily available?

First I want to tell that I have searched with no good relevant answer. So I wonder how Crystal Chip is compared to Matrix Infinity once Crystal use a firmware to play backups. Or is it easy to activate the Crystal Chip firmware to play backups? I have been offered these chips for a good price, but I need to know first.
