H2O problem?
I've done 5x V12 and 2x V10 w/o any problem. Now a V3, V4 and somtimes V7. It boot up most of the time w/ the "Playstation2" logo having a grey or white retangular box behind it. The back up boots thru, but the original will lead to the browser screen says the disc is a PS2 game. Press x, fade black, and back to the browser screen. All connection/wire was tested, no bridge. No G,H,J,K was connected. 5V and ground is thick and short enough. Once I disable the chip by holding the reset button for few sec, the original work perfectly, so the playstation logo shows up normal. Please help asap, have to return these to the customers soon.

Try to make gleaner installation.
Glean bios solders and keep the wires of bios to DONT crossing and route this from glean areas in the motherboard
-
tried, still the same. no 1 single wire crossing each another for connecting the bios. What is "Z" and "SX" for? Those 2 wires I have to cross on top of A,B and I.
-
sx for playstation backups z i suppose monitors eject
-
I desolder and solder everything again in the V2, still the same. Grey/white logo all the time and get into the browser screen w/original, same logo but boot thru w/ backup.
The V7 happened to be getting better boot rate instead of the grey/white logo for no reason and I didn't do anything to it. The grey/white logo happen once every 10 times.

for originals disable the chip (cause the original and modchip mecha bus data interfere)
hold reset till the picture on tv appears.
you can re-enable the chip by putting the ps2 into standby and turning it on with a short tap on the reset
just give it to the customer and let him know what to do on troublesome originals (the customers never mind - especially if you make it sound like its their responsibility to know that :-))

So the grey/white logo is normal which doesn't happen to later model?

Its a bios patch problem on older NTSC machines - it will be fixed in the ice code... some day - but nothing to worry about
