h20 in a pal v3, boots then resets itself??

hi

just installed a h20 in a v3 pal, booted it up from stby it went to the browser looked as if it was just about to come up with the playstation2 logo then a flash of green screen then it reset itself.

it then booted up backups fine for around 5 times then it would reset itself on boot.

any ideas guys??

it doesn't seem to do it at any particular point, like from stby, fully off or just from hitting reset it does it intermittently in all these modes.

it does boot most of the time, is this just the bootrate not being %100

This is the autoboot function of H2O.
Maybe your laser is damaged or very dirty and cant recognise the format of the currnt disk.
Try better media , adjust clean the laser .

the laser is pretty new m8, no more than a couple of months, i've moved the rst wire and made sure its nice and snug to the board and it seems to have cured it

you must keep the rst point clean of dirt both on mobo and the chip.

otherwise another nearby signal may reset the ps2 with interference

Huh? Dirt? I have noticed that the H2o's auto boot feature is just plain old buggy.

I never experienced this reset problem on any console with any chip. I installed about 10 h20 i think.

Did I say anything about a cover up... no I didnt. I simply stated that the auto boot is buggy and I do know what I'm talking about as I have experienced it first hand. No better proof then that pal. No need to get offended because of the truth.
