Dead laser.
Try to adjust , glean etc.
some v7 dont have the 400c laser fitted some have the R type and hd7 these are usally the ones that fail in this version and give you problems usally a 400c in a v7 is rock sollid.
the laser is a PS2 Laser Eye R Type (KHS-400R), ive tried cleaning adjusting with no luck
ive taken the modchip off with same problem, it just spins slowly then stops, no original will work anymore, why has this happened??
is it because of the modchip?? is it making it working harder to read dvd-r and thats why it stopped?
what can i do know with it?? can i put a different laser into it?? if so which one?/
is it possible to repair this one, is it likely it might be something else wrong??
sorry for all the questions
thank you all very much
your lasers no good if you want to put a 400c laser in you have to use a program called lens changer other than doing that you have to stick with the same laser type a 400c won,t work on a 400r board unless reprogramed.
can anyone tell me why this laser just suddenly dies? is it because of the modchip install or was it just coincidence that it died just after??
it could have been a number of things,
crappy blank media
laser was almost dead anyway
left on pause too long
crappy media
crappy media
how can i be certain its the laser, what else could stop the lens from reading, i done a check of the resistance on the coils and got 4.5 and 4.7, does this mean anything can the laser be the problem anyway?
i dont want to pay over $100 if the problem is elsewhere
thanks everyone
sounds like laser to me as well. just cause the coils are ok, dont mean the laser itself is ok.Originally Posted by onlinejames
I would say, ideally you would want the coils to be reading over 5 0ohms. Get a new laser and make sure its not a factory refurbished one. :-)
