for ground use the outer edge of the board, if the chip is working, dvd movies will boot then the machine will reset and boot again in dvd mode, check all connections by giving them a little tug on the wire, check especially points I, G and B and all the rest anyway

the ps2 will boot straight into movies no rebooting, all wires seem ok
does this mean the chip isnt working?
does the V9 pal need the H wire or not?
    thanks

PAL consoles dont need the H wire, but ive experienced lot of times i need to install it anyways. This problem i had on MI and DUO2SE .

Anyways, the V9 have some tricky dvd points so i would try to resolder the wires on the back as suggested above or check those.

Reason it has two I points is that u can choose one of them. Its your pick which to use.
Hello. This is my signature. Nice? yeah? Thanks!

I wouldn't expect it to cause problems, but from a signal integrity standpoint it would be better to only use one set of points.

how do you tell dvd and bios points?
BIOS points are the points soldered to the rows of pads arranged in a rectangular layout. DVD points are the ones soldered in a cluster of vias and components near one of the square chips.

you sure its the same spot as diagram, its far left on the lower point near the bottom ribbon cable, the wire runs under the mod chip
    thanks
