Guidance selecting mod chips (newbie)
Guidance selecting mod chips (newbie) –

I am a newbie to the ps2 mods and ps2 in general. From what I have seen there is several different ps2 mods. I see most people talking about magic chips and messiah chips. Which one is better and which one is easier to install. Also are there prewired versions for sale. I went to sperry and did not see them on his site. I am ok at soldering but would like to keep it to a minimum. I am looking for a chip that I will not have to do any swapping or switching. Basically, one I can install and then burn some backups and forget that I have the chip in there. Is there a setup that will allow future chip upgrades without unsoldering and resoldering? Thanks lfor helping me out. If you can point me to another thread with the answers or answer my questions it would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Spil

the main contenders are
Messiah 2 and Magic 3.1.
http://www.ps2newz.net/forums/showt...26576 is a difference between the two.
basically, messiah 2 is 5-10$ more, 1 wire more, and is better. the thread will explain.
TONS of shady dealers are claiming to sell Magic chips, so unless you get it from a trusted site, you may be getting a clone.
but if you have no solder experience, then no chance at installing it yourself....no furthur discussion...its way to damn hard for a beginner.
if you get one chip (eg Magic or Messiah) and they have a revision, all you'd have to do is get the newer model, and desolder the points on the chip.
i reccommend a messiah 2, a bit extra for more security
hope this helps
