Ground Connection for Ripper 2

Am I meant to scratch off some of the PCB green coating to reveal the copper board in order to connect the Ground wire? This for a V5 PS2

any help much appreciated.

There are plenty of grounding points on a PS2 motherboard. The entire copper strip at the edge of the motherboard makes a good grounding location.
