I'm really loosin' it with this . I have a Brand new v7 PS2 out of the box (other PS2 v5 didn't go so well.) and i am using at least 22 gauge wire for power and ground with wires going straight from chip to point on the board (ground about 1/2-3/4 inch long at most) and using 30gauge wire for the rest. I am running wires as mentioned with warnings paying much attention too. No solder balls/jumper touchings,No wire crossings, and all running flat. And i've looked over and over double checking ANYTHING that might be causing this. Granted i've made QUITE a lot of electronics project project books a long time ago and even designed stuff from scratch, and did not think chips could be SOOOO touchy with lengths of ground/pos. wire or being a millimeter off with the route there running across the board, but yet i am still following there guidelines just to be safe. When i disable the chip using the 'hold eject button for 1 1/2 sec.' method which works fine and starts to load the PS2 config. screen, which from there, i can load a game and it starts to load just fine, so i am assuming the chip is PARTIALLY working? I am assuming that my chip is a bad one. I've been extremely cautious with installing (3 hours, taking my sweet time on my bench with plenty of light and magnifying goggles even.) and can't figure out why else it STILL doesn't work. When turning on the reg. way, it does nothing but a black screen. The green and blue button lights are lit and all. I've contacted Divineo on trying to get a replacement DMS3 chip, as i have done and followed everything there is to read/precautionary notes. Anyone have similar problems and ended up still getting it to work out there?? (w/o the obvious of course since i've done that.) Thanx for any help. Picture not the greatest, used my Sprintphone since my digital camera batteries aren't charged.
