I just went to wal-mart and got one they have a little yellow triangle with a blue plus in the corners of the box.
Damit, I needed to mod this with a red magic 3.1, tonight. :mad:
so I 'll pretend to be a noob and ask anyone have points for it yet, :p :D

Well the magic 3.1 wont work. I heard the new messiah2 doesnt work on the new us 50001 units so you will have to wait and possibly sell your magic 3.1 for the new dms3 for v9 ps2s or wait until they revise the messiah2 to work on the us v9.

and on top you can't swap the whole drive to a v7 either the power/eject has a smaller cable

Well you cant but I dont know. Your going to need to use a mod that works on a 50000 series. I wouldnt want to swap the drive. Just keep it. The v9 compatible dms3 for v9 should come out. im not understanding how a dm3 v9 chip will help me with a m3.1 install, other than shelling out more $$
