About LinkBacksmy playstation2 is a GH-005 V1, and its haveing problems playing ps1 games and dvd movies, the current settings on the dvd and cd are
dvd: 992 ohms
cd: 1068 ohms
what are the best setting to get it working again? up or down iv heard and read both, please help thank you!

There are no factory specs for the model. Each laser is individually calibrated. If you are the first owner of the PS2 and there has been no calibration by you then those were the factory settings.
You should clean the lens as first resort using a lens cleaning CD. Then, if that doesn't help and if you do adjust the pots do so downwards by no more than 10%. If it works it will be for a limited time as your laser is beginning to fail.
