General question about mod chips

I've been reading for the past 2 hours and I still dont' understand a few things.

Lets say a game has a chip detection do I have to turn the chip off right after the game boots? Is that what the sleep/"turn off" fuction is for?
Also I have a PS2 v7 and I'm thinking of getting the Magic V but it doesn't say that it has the ability to turn off will this be a problem for playing games??

the turn off is for online gaming, & the magic V does have a "sleep mode"

Oh. What about that problem with Max Payne and Kingdom Hearts? Those games work with the Magic V?

What's the problem supposed to be with kingdom hearts? I just sent mine off to have a magic v installed

The Kingdom Hearts intro movie would freeze on older modchips. If it plays through completely, you're fine.

Yeah it was only a prob with the Magic 3. No worries.
