Problem with Gameshark on DMS3 v2
Problem with Gameshark on DMS3 v2 –
05-19-2003,05:45 PM
I have a recent ps2 with a dms3 v2 well installed.
It works with every backup I use. However, as I wanted to use a cheat device, as action replay 2, gameshark or codebreaker, I wanted to know if it would work with my backups...
So I tested several backup versions of these devices (gameshark V3, v2, codebreaker v6, ...) but whereas they work with my originals, they won't recognise the backup cds...
Can someone help with this problem? Or has someone already tried a cheat device with backup cds and can tell me if it works ?
Thanks a lot!

It won't work if the backup is a rip, but if it is a full dvd copy (or cd if that was the original source) it should work.

Just checked it out for myself and backups also do not work on my version 7 with DMS3 v2. This is so far the only flaw that I have noticed with the DMS3, sucks.

thanks for your help.
Does someone know how to contact the creators of DMS chips to inform them of that problem ? (I didn't find any contact info on www.dms3.com )
Perhaps if they were told it, they could do something with a flash upgrade.

The only way to contact DMS3 devs is trought your reseller

I've now contacted 2 resellers. I think the official reseller is divineo. I hope they'll give me the mail adress soon. If not, I told them what was the problem.

I have a v7 with DMS v2 also, and I can't use Gameshark2 v3 or CodeBreaker 6 on any DVD backup. It keeps saying "Cannot load disc" after prompting me to put in the game disc. Originals work fine though.

It's okay. I was told they were contacted thanks to my info.
Just hope it'll help bring out a new 1.4 upgrade !

I'm having the same problem with GS2v3. And no, there are NO problems with any wiring, including the eject line.
