Be aware the there are issues with the Swap Magic discs not being able to boot all titles, especially on DVD-R/+R. There are threads here on the subject. Use the Search button to enter "Swap Magic" as keywords and educate yourself before you make any final decison...

sure there are few titles such as hitman 2 etc...
but swap magic also isnt the only boot disc you can use, game shark discs work as well, and i have heard they are making a swap magic 3..?

the case to me seems the easiest way to play your backups, if you dont want to solder a mod chip i have a v4 so solder mod now, and its ok, but there are alot of peeps that dont want to mess with it, i ran into a few problems with my no solder chip and found i had to resolder the no solder chip hah ironic.... for the noobs this is a good idea i think.

You know what pisses me off so much. Everyone ( including that site) is using the Modchip.ca Banner that I made, Modchip.ca is still default on my payment, damn pricks.

90% of dvd rips dont work with the flip tops, and it can only boot cd-r games under 74 mins, its just a no-solder mod without actually anything being installed, and the "ease" of opening the cover for swapping instead of holding the eject button

its a POS in my opinion, get a Messiah 2 or Magic 3

thanks for the great reply ThAD0oD, i was thinking for getting magic3 but with all the probs i read about that are coming up lately i been lookin at the messiah maybe the magic3.1 will be better. anyways till i can find someone to solder or buy an iron and everything else and get enuff balls to mess with my ps2 like that i think ill go with a no solder, i should get pissed at it in about a month or so (from what i hear) and then ill have the balls to solder it. heh

Well first off if you don't have much experience soldering, your ps2 isn't a good thing to practice on or you will be sending it away to get repaired, find a good installer if you choose this path. Granted the covers won't work with most dvd rips on cdr's but dvd burners are pretty cheap and there are many many places to get dvd-r games for like $7-10 so dvd-r is what you should be using, not to mention dvd rips on cdr are harder on your laser. You are going to get biased answers on this subject as a lot of people don't like z and the covers were his idea and also alot of people are pro-modchip and consider these to be a step backwards, I personally have both messiah1 no-swap ps2 and a couple no solder mod ps2's using GS to boot, my messiah is great wouldn't trade it for anything, but doing the swap with the no solder chipped ps2's isn't a big deal either for me, even though I've never had any problems with my no solder mods some people have and it seems like it will eventually wear on the tray motor, that being said the covers combined with a GS would be a better choice in my opinion than a no-solder mod until you decide to get a no swap chip, I am trying to be unbiased but I'm sure others with their own agenda will disagree.
