Hi everyone, just wondering for any mod chip installed on a ps2, does the bios have to be flashed. Why do people do it and what is the significance to it?

    thx

Depends on the chip. The DMS, Infinity, and some homebrew chips can be flashed. It sometimes offers fixes or more features.

Nope the magic V doesn't need to be flashed. I have one and it works great.

You can run regular movies but not imports with just the chip. You;d need region x or something like that.

Just buy a region free dvd player for like 50$. That's what I did. it'll put less wear on the ps2.

Could you flash a magic v (v5678) with say magic 3.2 code?

Or could you flash the BIOS on the ps2 from 030 to 040?
